There are two main filter material for this kind of filter element,sintered metal fiber felt(as filtration layer) and stainless steel wire mesh(as protection layer).

Sintered metal fiber felt is made of stainless steel fiber by sintering in high temperature. it has the advantages that high porosity, good air permeability, high dirt holding capacity, can be used repeatedly etc.
